Empowering communities with data-driven road safety interventions to build safer environments for all road users.
The “My Safe Road” initiative is MKJR’s flagship data-driven program tackling high road fatality rates at the district level. Recognizing that local conditions require tailored solutions, this initiative empowers communities to identify specific road safety challenges from dangerous intersections (‘blackspots’) to areas with high motorcycle traffic and implement high-impact interventions.
Our goal is safer local environments for everyone, especially vulnerable motorcyclists and pedestrians.

Empowering local communities to identify risks and take action that truly works.
We work closely with councils, police, community leaders, and residents to understand their unique road safety challenges.
Every intervention is backed by real data, helping us pinpoint high-risk locations like blackspots and high-motorcycle zones.
Local engagement ensures that solutions are embraced, maintained, and sustained over time.
Our early success was in Batu Pahat, where road fatalities dropped significantly. It demonstrates the strength of our community-first, data-driven approach. These insights now guide our work across districts nationwide, helping communities build safer roads and sustain long-term ownership of local safety solutions.
We prioritise high-impact activities that address local risks and strengthen community-led road safety efforts.
Using accident data to identify and implement engineering solutions at high-risk locations (dangerous roads, intersections).
Advocating for and supporting improvements like better road lighting, clearer signage, traffic-calming measures (speed bumps, roundabouts), and safer intersection designs.
Partnering with local police (PDRM) to improve compliance with key traffic laws, such as speed limits and helmet usage, in target areas.
Developing and delivering safety messages tailored to specific local risks and road user groups within the district.
Facilitating workshops and platforms for local residents to actively participate in identifying problems and creating safety action plans for their neighbourhoods.
